Biography of Sharon Smith

After spending two decades entrenched in the world of finance as a bookkeeper and office manager for law firms, I found myself yearning for a change from the monotony of routine tasks. In January 2017, I embarked on a new journey by joining Harcourts in East London, seeking fresh challenges and opportunities for growth.

My tenure at Harcourts proved to be transformative. Within months, I began making significant strides, showcasing my knack for sales and client engagement. In the periods spanning July to September 2017 and October to December 2017, I clinched the Bronze Award for commissions generated, marking the inception of my success story. This trend continued with consecutive Bronze Awards in April to June 2018 and July to September 2018, highlighting my consistent performance and dedication.

The pinnacle of my achievements in 2018 arrived when I was honoured as the Top Sales Consultant for the number of listings, securing the second position. Additionally, I was recognized as the Top Sales Consultant Rookie of the Year, a testament to my rapid adaptation and excellence in the real estate domain.

As 2019 unfolded, I continued to elevate my credentials and accolades. In July of that year, I attained full status at NQF level 4, further enhancing my expertise and credibility in the industry. My commitment to excellence was reaffirmed with Bronze and Silver Awards for commission generated in various quarters, underscoring my consistent performance and value to the organization.

Amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, I seized the opportunity to further my education and professional qualifications. During the three-month period of lockdown, I dedicated myself to study and attained NQF 5 status, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in adverse circumstances. In August of the same year, I successfully passed my PDE 5 examination, further solidifying my credentials as a competent real estate professional.

In September 2020, fuelled by ambition and entrepreneurial spirit, my husband and I embarked on a new venture, establishing our own real estate business, Shaz and Shane Properties. Since its inception, our business has thrived, achieving remarkable success and garnering a reputation for excellence and integrity in the industry.

As I reflect on my journey from a desk-bound bookkeeper to a dynamic entrepreneur and top-performing real estate professional, I am grateful for the challenges and opportunities that have shaped my career. With unwavering determination and a passion for excellence, I look forward to continuing my journey towards greater success and fulfilment in the ever-evolving real estate landscape.
